The one-file browser quiz completes the beginner course. Installation is optional. Keep the browser version and your drafts available while you choose what to build next. No score, completion record or finished lesson unlocks these pages.
Experienced readers can enter any practical guide or language reference directly. Use the prerequisites below to choose a useful starting point.
Optional native lessons
Install and run locally follows the canonical Get Started downloads, host requirements and installation workflow, then checks and runs the completed quiz on Linux. It assumes the quiz concepts and basic terminal use. The original quiz needs only one saved source file.
Move the helper into a source module follows that local lesson and the completed quiz. It uses two source files, an explicit export and a module-qualified call. These sources are Native only; browser virtual files do not load source modules.
Practical guides and reference
| What you want to build | Start here and prerequisites | Execution |
|---|---|---|
| Split a program into source files | Source-module guide and import/export reference. Know functions and select the native toolchain. | Native only. |
| Read or write text and handle recoverable failures | Text-file guide, file API and results reference. Know strings and checked result branches. | Browser virtual files and native filesystem paths have different preparation and lifetime rules. |
| Call a compatible C library | C guide and C API reference. Know functions/types, install ASPL and obtain the named compatible Linux shared library. | Native only; explicit unsafe declarations and supported signatures. |
| Build an HTTP client or service | HTTP guide, API reference and deployment/trust. Know records, results and functions; prepare native modules and the peer, certificates or trust inputs required by the example. | Native only. |
| Draw, handle input or play audio | Raylib guide and API reference. Know loops, functions and records; use native installation, a supported desktop and the example's assets. | Native only; graphics/audio examples need suitable devices. |
A reading-language switch changes documentation. It does not translate user names, enable a native library in the browser or turn browser run files into source modules.
Keep experimenting
Return to the Tutorial path when you want a smaller exercise, or browse complete programs with their host labels and required downloads. The optional native lessons do not replace the completed one-file browser quiz.
